Dear Friends, Before we start our summer holidays, we want to present you the UEF Update issue covering our news in June and July. You will find out news from the secretariat and the UEF across Europe. We are continuously improving - a redesigned website was presented in the beginning of June and the newsletter itself has obtained a fresh look. Our member organisations have been actively fighting for free borders in Europe and we have been promoting transnational election lists as a way towards more democratic and more federal Europe.  The next UEF Update will be issued in September. Have amazing summer holidays!   Sincerely yours,
Christian Wenning
UEF Secretary General

UEF NEWS

Brand New Website www.federaleurope.org

For a while already we are happy to serve you with a newly redesigned website www.federaleurope.org. Over the past year the European secretariat has been tirelessly working to improve the websites’ usability to better meet the needs of the UEF members and others interested in the European Federalism.

The new site provides enhanced access to UEF news, information and resources. UEF members will find it easier to search for information related to the statutory body meetings. Resolutions can be browsed not only by the date of their adoption, but also by theme and statutory bodies. Those members who want know how to be more active, can check the newly created Task Forces section. Section "Members" gives an opportunity to learn a short history of each organisation, their main latest activities and contact their representatives easy. If you want to know more about activities of the member organisations, visit "Members' News".

The new site is better linked to the various social media. Now you can recommend and share interesting policy papers or news with your friends and followers on Facebook and Twitter with just one click straight from the website. We enourmously thank Martin Teubner for his great work!

Support the "European Daily"

Over the past decades Europe has grown ever more interconnected. It is a big part of our daily lives. Yet, strangely, daily news is still largely covered from national perspectives.

Borders no longer prevent us from moving around the continent freely, but they still manage to isolate debates and hold back the free flow of ideas and arguments.

The absence of a European public sphere has been discussed for decades. Now, a group of dedicated Europeans has decided to do something about it.

On 15 June they published a "preview edition" of the European Daily, a "daily newspaper for Europe". 40 000 copies were distributed in Brussels, London, Paris and Berlin.

Launching a pan-European daily newspaper is a daunting project, especially in these difficult times for both Europe and the newspaper industry. However, we hope you agree that this is something Europe needs more now than maybe ever before.

The team behind the European Daily aims to launch the daily edition all across Europe by the end of the year. They are now looking for partners and investors to realise this. If you think you can help them in any way, feel free to contact ed(at)europeandaily.com.

You can also find more information and a PDF version of the preview edition on their website: europeandaily.com
