A delegation headed by the UEF Secretary-General and the UEF treasurer approached delegates who showed their commitment to a stronger, better Europe, organised along Federalist principles.

Amongst others Marianne THYSSEN, Belgian MEP and member of the Committee of Economic Affairs and  Steven VANACKERE, Belgian Minister of Finance signed the federalist pledge.

UEF President Elmar BROK, UEF Vice President Andrey KOVATCHEV and UEF Germany President Reiner WIELAND were also there to witness the election of Jean-Claude Juncker as the EPP candidate for European Commission president.
