"More Europe! How to make it" – Federal Congress of the EUD met in Düsseldorf
The 58th Federal Congress of Europa-Union Deutschland took place in parliamentary building of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia in Düsseldorf where it held its meeting in the plenary hall.
300 delegates and guest from all over Germany and Europe met with prominent speakers, such as Martin Schulz, president of the European Parliament and Angelica Schwall-Düren, minister for European issues of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia and discussed the new political program of the EUD.

A new political program was adopted in Düsseldorf: “European integration in the 21st century – Our aim is a Federal Europe”.EUD-President Rainer Wieland, Vice-President of the European Parliament, declares: „With the Program of Düsseldorf we formulate clear ideas and visions for the future of European integration. Our goal remains unchanged: A federal Europe! Only by the means of „more Europe“ we will find ourselves able to tackle the challenges of the 21st century. The national states have to delegate more competences to the European level to regain the power to act on the global level.”
