The topic was introduced by Roger Vancampenhout, Political advisor of UEF Belgium, Professor Pierre Vercauteren, FUCAM University, and Thierry Van Gullick, RTBF journalist. 

The debate focused on the new European tool for a participatory democracy - ECI - its perspectives, the challenges of launching a European initiative and its effects, the opportunities for the organized civil society and UEF in particular. Fourty participants, mainly students, representatives of civil society organizations and local politicians attended the seminar and participated in the debate.

It was organized in the framework of the project “MIDIS EUROPEENS: EUROPEAN CHALLENGES AND CITIZENSHIP” supported by the European Commission Program “Europe for the Citizens”.
